Fray Day Japan

Fray Day 5 - Kyoto, Japan is now history!

Thanks to all the folks that came over to KyoRyuKan Saturday night to tell a story and be Fray Day! And a BIG BIG thanks to the official Fray Day - Kyoto Band (Mr. Fryman on C-Trumpet, Mr. Kusano on Bass Clarinet and Mr. Takebow on his wicked homemade 8 string guitars) who provided us with music most suitable for Fray Day.

Most everyone was coaxed to take the stage and tell their story. We heard a lot of really great stories and couple of completely amazing ones too!

Can't wait til next year!
-Michael/KyoRyuKan

Fray Day : Looking for ideas for interactive art.

I've been looking for ideas for interactive art exhibits for our event in Grand Rapids. As I began brainstorming I realized that every city could benefit from this thought process. We might even find some new artists in our midst. So if you are builder, painter, inventor, electrician, plumber, mechanic, or any other hands on type of person and you like stories read on.   more >>>

Grand Rapids : seeks verbal storytellers.

Do you have a story to tell? Fray Day 5 is the place to do it. I'm looking for four talented storytellers to help kick the evening off. They should have experience performing in front a crowd and be willing to prepare a true story about their life that will last about ten to fifteen minutes. If you are interested please email me.

Los Angeles: Announcing FrayList!

First of all, I'd like to thank the many people who have offered to volunteer. When I signed up for this, I didn't imagine that so many people would be so passionate about this. Now that I know better, I've decided to set up a little mailing list to keep things better coordinated.   more >>>

Grand Rapids: Good News, Bad News

I'll start with the bad news: we're still struggling to get the venue nailed down. It's been an even bigger challenge than last year because the UICA (last year's venue) experienced some staff changes that created a wee bit of confusion. Ok, on to the good news: we should have the venue nailed down by the end of the week and Fray Day 5 GR will be mentioned in this Sunday's Grand Rapids Press. Check out the flare section. And to boot we may have even more press coverage in the works. This year's event already promises to be bigger and better than last.

Los Angeles: Where it's at!

And now the moment you've all been anxiously waiting for...Los Angeles has a venue! The folks at the Un-Urban Coffee House in Santa Monica have graciously donated use of their facilities on Sunday, September 9 from seven in the evening until midnight. It's no longer on the eighth, folks. Take note!   more >>>

Latest Los Angeles News

I have a little confession to make. I am a Fray Day virgin. I may be putting together the Los Angeles event, but I've never been to a Fray Day event before...

Now that you're over the shock (yes, I know I'm deprived), on with business.   more >>>

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at Ruta Maya on what we Texans have dubbed Cinco de Frayo. (Besides...it is my twentieth birthday! Come help celebrate!)

Fray Toronto!

Hello all. Venue should be had soon. Am waiting on 2 callbacks, and have a couple more to scope this week. Should have one soon. I'm aiming for about 50 to 100 people, and have a handful of "acts" who are keen on expressing themselves.

If anyone has leads or ideas on a good venue, please pass on the information to sandropasquali@yahoo.com. More to come...

Boston Fray Day!

Hi everyone, I'm Jen Langley and I'm organizing a Fray Day here in Boston. I've already got a handful of wonderful volunteers, but am still looking for more. I'd love some volunteer storytellers, too! We're on the verge of having a venue, so please check back!

People wishing to volunteer to help us put Fray: Melbourne together can do so by subscribing to the super-dooper wafer list, set up specifically for the Melbourne event on waferbaby.
